His designs have been featured in Canadian Business Magazine, the Photoshop conference in Boston and twice by software developers as cutting edge web design. And Ricardo has been using social media to connect and engage people for over a decade. His blog Hook Me Up Rico.com has 6000 long-time members that network and share with one another. He was also responsible for the 5000 person flashmob Moonwalk for Michael Jackson in 2009, at Yonge and Dundas Square.
Prior to his dynamic career, Ricardo studied Fine Arts and Business at the University of Windsor, and The Ontario College of Art and Design. He also earned both his Project Management and Professional Sales designations during his years as an Account Executive on Bay Street. Written up in The Huffington Post, he was referred to as a “New Radical”, someone who does good, at work. Look out for his first book in 2014 called “The Business of Art”.
A Gen Y native, Gloria grew up digital. She began her career in public affairs, pivoted into the not-for-profit and then private sector before redefining herself as an entrepreneur. In her quest to do what she loves she has worn many hats, including policy advisor, international project manager, and market research consultant.
Gloria is a frequent commentator on Huffington Post LIVE, a Huffington Post Blogger, and her first book, BYOB: The Unapologetic Guide to Being Your Own Boss, is an Amazon.ca best-seller in Entrpreneurship.
Before partnering with her husband Ricardo in Wedge15, Gloria ran her own social media agency consultancy and Founded My Kinda Woman.com. During her time as a social media consultant, she provided impactful solutions for clients ranging from the City of Toronto to a local travel company in Italy, and has spoken on the power of social media at Women in Film and Television, The University of Toronto and the Urban Financial Planner’s Association.
An avid blogger since 2001, she was an early adopter of Web 2.0 technology and digital communication. Her love for all things digital led her to develop workshops and talks on the power of social media. Soon, she partnered with Ricardo to customize websites, strategies and trainings for a variety of businesses. Gloria’s ability to master and maneuver this rapidly changing space and break it down for others to clearly understand, allows her to support the work of a variety of people and organizations across virtually any sector.
Gloria is passionate about making a difference world-wide and has travelled to manage collaborative projects in Hungary, Kosovo and Montenegro. She’s fluent in English, French and Hungarian, and can find her way around Italian and Spanish. She earned her BA from McGill University and her MA from the University of Toronto. And, she accomplished all of the above under the age of 30.
